Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants
In January 2000, TSG completed the design,
fabrication and construction of an 80,000-gallon per day seawater
reverse osmosis water plant at the Sapphire Beach Resort on St.
Thomas, USVI. This project included an upgrade of the seawater
intake structure and was undertaken on a "fast track" basis to
assure the resort had an adequate potable water supply for its
prime 2000 season. TSG erected the entire water treatment plant
on site and placed it into operation in 8 days. TSG owns and
operates this desalination plant.
To better serve the needs of the local water
trucking industry, TSG designed and constructed the first automated
water fill station in the USVI at the Sapphire Beach facility.
This station utilizes an automated card reader to dispense pure
drinking water at a rate of 500 gallons per minute.
To reduce the demand for potable water, TSG also
assumed operation and renovated the existing wastewater treatment plant
at Sapphire to provide irrigation quality effluent.
"When I took over as General Manager
at Sapphire Beach Resort &
Marina, TSG had been taking care of our fresh water production
and
wastewater for over one year. Being the new General Manager,
I was anxious
to identify those areas that needed my immediate attention
- and TSG was
not one of them! This has remained true in my almost three
years
relationship with them. The TSG professionals have kept
our water plant
producing crystal clear water, and kept an aging wastewater
plant
functioning perfectly. I have every confidence in their
ability to
manage this vital part of our operation, and I look forward
to continued
association with them."
